I have all new pictures for the Frank’s Bay to Somerset section of the Railway Trail. You can see them here.
Where Middle Road meets Whale Bay Road you can see the old Evans Bay Station, which somehow I had completely missed until this last visit. The bright green was too obvious, I guess.

The Khyber Pass to Frank's Bay section of the Railway Trail pages is also now online. You can see it here.
After the tree tunnels of Paget and Warwick, the Trail follows the ridge, providing vistas across the Great Sound before dropping down to Middle Road.
This section needs better pictures too, and this is also on my to-do list for the coming year.

The Frank’s Bay to Somerset section of the Railway Trail pages is now available. You can see it here.
This part of the Trail runs alongside Middle Road until Whale Bay Road. Then it goes off to the right to follow a long straight route to Somerset Bridge, providing a very good stretch for cyclists.
I haven’t walked this section for a few years, so I am lacking many photographs. More and better pictures are on my agenda for the coming year.

The Flatts to Palmetto Park section of the Railway Trail pages is now available. You can see it here. I put this up in December, but forgot to tell you.
I just got back from our annual trip to Bermuda, but a combination of a shorter-than-usual visit and cool and cloudy weather meant that I didn’t get to walk the Trail at all this time. I’ll have to go through my existing Trail pictures and see if I have enough to put up some more Trail sections.

The Hamilton section of the Railway Trail pages is now available. You can see it here.
Strictly speaking there is no Hamilton section of the Trail, since almost all vestiges of the Railway have disappeared, but enthusiasts can still imagine the Bermuda Railway train running down the middle of Front Street and disappearing into the tunnel under Par-la-Ville Park.

Both the Railway and Trail FAQs have new questions answered. What happened to the railway equipment after the Bermuda Railway closed? explains how the Railway was sold lock, stock and barrel to British Guiana in 1948, while How safe is the Railway Trail? discusses an important consideration for visitors.

A surprising number of people have emailed me to ask: Can I bicycle on the Railway Trail? So the first entry in the Railway Trail FAQ provides the answer.
